BS you say!  Let’s see…

Biogas and Biofuels have been around for centuries. Biogas was first introduced commercially by Alessando Volta in the 1770s (although biogas was already used by the Assyrians by 900 BC to warm bath waters), Biodiesel was first introduced commercially in 1853 by J. Patrick and E. Duffy.

As Global Warming and other impacts of Climate Change began to increase broadly and in intensity, efforts were initiated in earnest to enhance/improve and optimize these antiquated concepts and methods for producing biogas and biofuel as replacements for the fossil equivalents, and thus reduce CO2 emissions.  The feedstock of choice for these processes – mainly waste organic matter and selected field crops.

The result...

$ Billions have been invested in repurposing existing refineries (i.e., essentially seeking to make “better mousetraps”) that are, in fact, just bigger and a little more efficient versions of the earlier methods, but have been proven to be inefficient overall and are dependent on finite quantities of diverse types of feedstocks that are difficult to collect, qualify and process, and now are increasingly costly to acquire.

The result…

These solutions are not scalable or able to produce products that are cost comparable with the fossil equivalents, let alone at a profit.

The result…

Currently, though the Industry is able to supply such biofuels/energy to the market, it is only able to do so in very limited quantities and at a very high cost compared to the fossil fuels and natural gas we need to replace.

The result…

The Transition to Green and solving the problem of Global Warming can never be achieved if we only can supply less than 5%-10% of the needs at a price that, in the best scenario, is 4 times more expensive than fossil.

The result...

Increasingly, the facilities employing these “optimized” methods are being “shuttered”/”mothballed” and the initiatives/programs to construct and launch new facilities are being paused, and in some cases, abandoned.

This doesn’t need to happen!

Summit went back to “square one” and looked at the opportunity holistically, and then over the past 4+ years determined that everything needed to “leapfrog” practically from the current situation to being able to sustainably, economically and profitably produce SAF and Renewable Diesel and BioGas globally at scale, any scale, nearly anywhere, and that was cost comparable with the fossil equivalents and would strategically impact meaningfully on CO2 emissions, was “hiding in plain sight”.

The result, with the right “optics...

  • Viable Solutions can be constructed with existing technology, components and processes that historically have been and currently continue to be employed in diverse types of industries and readily available from multiple sources globally, then smartly reengineered, integrated and synchronized.

  • Existing facilities can be retrofitted with Summit’s Cultivatron Facility to produce the unique Splants Feedstock and the NuSFX Facility to uniquely precondition the Splants (as well as qualified other organic matter, if desired).

  • New Facilities can be located at or proximate to where the fuels/biogas is needed, thus drastically reducing the need for transporting the NuFuels/NuGas from production locations to where they are needed and thus also the associated costs and CO2 impacts.

  • Prior efforts and investments by the Industry can be monetized in many, if not most, cases, and contribute significantly to the timely and successful Transition to Green.
